Laser Vision Correction
Most people with vision correction issues want to know more about LASIK and whether it is right for them. Here is a brief description of the procedure:
A flap is made from the front surface of the eye (the cornea) and gently folded back. An Excimer Laser is used to reshape the cornea into a flatter shape. The flap is then put back in place, acting as a natural bandage. The healing process is quick and the level of comfort is amazing. Many times our patients say that they didn’t feel any discomfort at all, and they could see a great improvement in vision immediately following the procedure. However, every patient heals at different rates, so it must be noted that although vision is greatly improved immediately after surgery, it often continues to improve for some weeks or even months.
LASIK is not for everyone. People’s eyes are different. Even though you may have had a friend who has had LASIK, it may not be the best course of treatment for you. Our doctors spend a lot of time examining your eyes and guiding you in your decision. After helping hundreds of patients, we have the experience to help you decide on the right surgeon and surgery center, the best procedure for you. At The Eye Center South Tulsa, we care for you and your eyes from the pre-operative examinations through your post-operative care.
